Review: J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Basket-Weave Tweed

Hi Everyone!

I LOVE the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Basket-Weave Tweed in both colors, the Marine Blue and Grass Green.  I was super excited to get the skirts this week after hearing Whitney’s glowing review on the JCA Reviews thread earlier this week.

I live in pencil skirts; I LOVE the pattern/color of these tweed skirts.  Here are a few IRL pictures of both colors:

Grass Green:

You must have read my mind this morning. I was thinking of getting this and I was searching for review and there you're. Thank you. I haven't tried skirts from J. Crew and does it fit true to the size? Or should I size down?

I saw these skirts in the store, and I agree, they are fabulous! Green is my favorite color, but for some reason I have been drawn to everything in that bright blue lately. I'm headed back to the store tomorrow or Monday to try the gimlet skirt on, and may try this on for fun. I always say I have no need for pencil skirts, but who knows….perhaps I'll end up loving them!

I like the blue one, but I won't be able to wear something like that until spring in my part of the world.

ifky12: Please let me know what you think of the skirts if you try them on!! I love how the Grass Green version of the Basket-Weave skirt is styled in the catalog! I looked at the Gimlet skirt, but I was nervous that it would make my hips look really wide.Rose: I agree with you, the blue version of the Basket-Weave skirt is beautiful!! Thanks for being here ladies!!

I LOVE this skirt IRL. I just got mine yesterday and will do a post as well soon. I tried the green one first since I have so many things it can work with. After seeing it though, I may need to get the blue as well at some point. 🙂 Thanks again for all you great review pictures!

Thank you for the shout-out to my blog! Makes me feel like I ought to post more often so that it can live up to your kind compliments, haha ;)You look really great in the Basketweave skirts – I think that J.Crew really hit upon a winner with them. The pink water floral is lovely, too…is the fabric thicker or stiffer than the blue Basketweave?

You're very welcome, and a big thank you to you too for your great reviews!!!Whitney: Ha! You already live up to the compliments! I do love your reviews; they're super helpful. Thanks SO much for your compliment–I really like these skirts. About the Waterfloral skirt: Yes, the fabric is thicker and stiffer than the Basketweave skirts. The material is really sturdy. The quality is definitely there. Thanks SO much for being here ladies!!!
