I am SO excited to partner with J. Crew to spread the word about an incredible initiative. J. Crew has partnered with One Warm Coat to provide a warm coat for those in need! It’s an awesome initiative and it’s a win-win for us all! Donate your gently used coat at a J. Crew store to help those in need and you’ll receive $25 off your $125 purchase! In the end, you’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling that you helped at least one person stay warm during this winter season! Have fun spreading the love–I sure did!
I hope that you’ll participate in this worthwhile initiative and give back to those in need! Remember, you’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling that you’ve helped others stay warm in colder temperatures! I had SO much fun participating in this initiative because I was repeatedly reminded that “we’re better together,” and we’re better when we help others. Just thinking about giving back and thinking about the people who will be touched by our generosity makes me smile from ear to ear as my amazing Mom would say. So, while you’re out running errands this weekend, do not forget to stop by your local J. Crew retail store and donate your gently used coat! This is one of the many reasons why I LOVE the J. Crew brand SO much. It’s SO much more than clothing. J.Crew is genuinely committed to building loving and lasting relationships and connections with others. Just take a look at the “Meet My Crew” campaign. It’s all about uniting us around shared interests and passions. I love every bit of it!
My outfit details (and a few other great pieces that would pair well with this FAB coat):
Happy Friday! If you’ve followed my blog and Instagram account for awhile, you know that I LOVE plaid. I love layering SO much, so fall and winter are without question my favorite seasons. There is just something about putting on a cozy look that include a chunky sweater, boots, and a fun coat that puts me in a great mood! I am loving so many of the great plaid combinations and adorable sweaters at J. Crew and Madewell right now. So, give me alllllll of the plaid! Here are a few of my Friday Faves:
I am also a huge fan of fun, bold floral patterns that work well in summer, spring, winter, and fall. I love that a lot of the florals being offered now do not look out of place when worn during the colder months. The patterns look great with boots and chunky sweaters, too! Fashion that transcends all four seasons is always a win in my book! And, the Silk Pleated Popover in Floral print in both colorways is one of my faves! This top is super flattering. I sized down from an XL to a size Large. This gorgeous floral is also offered in pants (in navy and rich gold) and in a Tippi sweater in the rich gold multi color. The following image pairs two of my favorites: tweed and a bold floral pattern. I love how the solid color sweater balances the textures and the prints so well. The v-neck sweater adds the perfect touch to the look. I would wear a crewneck sweater with the look, too, but there is just something that is extra flattering about the v-neck neckline in my opinion. This is such a fun, classic look that could be worn to work or out for a fun date night:
I am also loving this color combo! Bright pink and navy is without question one of my favorite color pairings. I love this other mannequin image, too, because seeing white after Labor Day makes me incredibly happy! Fashion “rules” were definitely made to be broken!
I’d love to know what you’re loving on this fabulous Friday, so please share in the comments!
Madewell updated their site with several stunning new arrivals. I am drooling over all of the fun prints, flannels, and of course, all of the fabulous leopard pieces! There are leopard sweaters, shoes, and calf hair bags. And, I love that the leopard pieces are not just the regular brown and tan leopard color combos. Everything looks so cozy and perfect for the cooler temperatures ahead! I am obsessed with cozy flannels that can be dressed up or down, as well as cute plaid tops that work so well with many wardrobe pieces including jeans, denim skirts, and pencil/midi skirts. I am also loving the website styling. I love how the images show how to layer unexpected pieces, prints, and combos. I am SO into the leopard on leopard pairings that both J. Crew and Madewell are doing! I am here for allllll of it! And, the shoes!!!! Oh my goodness!
Here is what I am loving:
The Plaid Bryant Coat is at the top of my list because it’s so classic and fun! I love pattern mixing with plaids and this coat is ripe for cute pairings with stripes! A classic white shirt will look great with this coat, too! I love the oversized look of this coat, too! It will make for easy layering. And, who does not love plaid?!?! I am also glad to see the return of the Zelda Mary Jane Pump in Glitter. I have these shoes from last year and I LOVE them. The shoes are SO comfortable and fun; the heel height is perfect, too! The glitter adds the right amount of pop to any outfit without being overpowering or too festive. The shoes fit small last year, so consider sizing up at least a 1/2 size.
And, may we please talk about the leopard pieces in this look?!?! Ummmmm, amazing!
I love this jacket not only because of the print, but also because it wraps! Wrap jackets are incredibly flattering because they hide all of the lumps and bumps in the midsection! I mean, how fun is this look?!?!
I’d love to know what you’re loving at Madewell these days, so please share in the comments! Also, be sure to check your email if you’re a Madewell Icon because there is a promotion for $100 off a $500 purchase!
This is me trying to come up with a catchy title! I wore the gorgeous J. Crew Parke Blazer when I was in NYC in September. This blazer is SO chic, classic, and cute!!! I love the variety of colors it’s offered in and I love how the blazer pairs well with jeans, skirts, and multiple types of pants (wide leg, slim fit, and trousers)! This was the perfect travel look for my birthday! Classic blazers are definitely a wardrobe staple and I highly recommend investing in fun colors such as this vibrant orange because blazers do not have to be boring wardrobe pieces. They can be fun wardrobe workhorses! I certainly think that the classic black blazer has its place, but you cannot go wrong with fun pops of color! Colorful blazers allow for fun pattern mixing, too! Adding this super cute camo tote to the look was the perfect finishing touch! I love the pattern mixing with stripes, camo, and calf hair.
I wore this outfit to travel on my birthday, but I also wore this same look to teach a few weeks ago, which speaks to its versatility. The blazer can be dressed up or down to make it suitable for work or for play. I felt fairly “dressed up” even while wearing distressed denim because the blazer is so classic. I love the versatility of this look. Add a vibrant color blazer to your wardrobe this fall/winter! I promise that you will not regret it! The beauty of this particular blazer is that it fits SO well and it’s great quality. The Parke Blazer also comes in a variety of textures; it comes in velvet, “English herringbone wool,” wool flannel, and herringbone. I took a size 12 in this blazer, which is a size down from my normal size 14. I have also been taking a size 12 in the other textures of this blazer except for the velvet. Velvet does not have a lot of “give,” so I have purchased the velvet blazers in a size 14.
Happy weekend! As you know, I draw so much inspiration from J. Crew styling and mannequin images. I am a visual person to the core. So, seeing images helps me to imagine how I would look in an item, as well as how an outfit will fit into my daily routine. I love the unexpected combinations that the J. Crew styling team puts together. And, I love how older J. Crew items mix SO well with current J. Crew pieces. I may have squealed when I saw the following image in my local store:
The leopard on leopard pairing is SO classic, fun, and timeless. And, the pop of color with the olive green purse is just adorable! This outfit is definitely one of my Friday Faves! See below for the other pieces that I am currently loving:
